This notice explains personal information used by giantegg.co.uk and its connected community bots.

Who is responsible and how to contact us

Adam Tong operates GIANTEGG and is the controller responsible for the personal information described here. For privacy questions, complaints or requests to access, correct or delete your information, email info@rocksolidgames.co.uk.

Information we keep and how we use it

• Account information: your Twitch user ID, username, display name, profile image URL, email address supplied by Twitch, and login dates. We use these to recognise your account and provide signed-in features. Twitch handles your password.
• Participation and preferences: activity and watch-time records, entries, nominations, votes, results, rewards, fulfilment notes, relevant chat messages and notification preferences. We use these to provide the activities you join, deliver rewards and keep participation fair.
• Linked accounts and gameplay: linked identifiers such as Steam IDs, player names, teams, match statistics, reserved access and moderation records, including bans and reasons. Where you use these services, we use this information to link your participation, provide access and apply community rules.
• Account access and safety: sign-in and connection information, access permissions, records of account and moderation actions, IP addresses, browser details and request dates. We use these to maintain access, diagnose problems and investigate misuse.

The information kept depends on how you participate. It comes from you, the platforms you use, community moderators and records of activity. Account information is needed for sign-in; other features may need the information relevant to that activity.

Our reasons for using personal information

We rely on legitimate interests to run and protect community services, keep participation and moderation records, and prevent misuse. Where necessary to provide a service you request under our terms, we rely on performance of that agreement. Optional uses based on consent can be stopped by withdrawing consent. We also use or retain information where required by law.

Community announcements

We use public channel, video and livestream information to post community announcements, including creator names, titles, links and publication or start times. We keep delivery records to check whether messages were sent and avoid duplicates.

GIANTEGG uses YouTube API Services. Read-only access to the operator's own Google accounts provides channel and broadcast information, including identifiers, titles, visibility, status and times. Connection credentials are retained to maintain this access; users do not need to connect a Google account. Public announcement content is shared with Discord and the people who can see the destination channel. Google data is not sold or used for advertising profiles. See the Google Privacy Policy. The connected account holder can revoke access through Google's security permissions page, and request deletion using the contact below.

Requesting deletion of your information

If you use giantegg.co.uk and would like us to delete your account or personal information, please email info@rocksolidgames.co.uk. Include your GIANTEGG or Twitch username so we can identify the relevant records. Do not send passwords or account access tokens.

We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will explain any information that must be retained and why, and let you know the outcome of your request.

Who receives information

Authorised community staff can access information needed for their responsibilities. Hosting and service providers process information needed to operate GIANTEGG. Depending on the features you use, relevant information is exchanged with Twitch, Google/YouTube, Discord, Steam and game hosting providers for sign-in, participation and notifications.

Your display name, submissions, votes, results or alerts may be visible in community channels or broadcasts when you take part in a public activity. Other people may copy public posts; removing our record does not remove their copies.

These providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Their own notices explain their locations and protections. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements used for GIANTEGG's hosted data. Platform notices include Twitch, Discord and Steam.

Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies to keep you signed in and protect your account. A remembered-login cookie normally lasts up to 90 days and can renew when used; logging out clears that browser's remembered login. Browser storage also remembers display preferences. You can control cookies through your browser, but blocking necessary cookies can prevent sign-in from working.

Embedded content and external profile images can send your IP address and browser information to their providers, which may use their own cookies.

How long information is kept

How long we keep information depends on whether your account or participation remains active, whether a reward or request is unresolved, and whether records are still needed for moderation, security, disputes or legal obligations. You can request a review or deletion using the contact above. Removing an account does not necessarily remove every related record or copies held in backups or by other platforms; we will explain any retention relevant to your request.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact us at the email address above to make a request.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will consider your circumstances and explain the outcome.

You can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You may contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.

Changes

We will update this notice when our practices change and show the revision date above. Material new uses of connected-account data will be explained before they begin, with additional consent where required.
